Varvet is a place where skilled people build things they're proud of. We work from where it works, keep the overhead low, and care deeply about getting the details right.

We've been around since 2013 — long enough to know what works and curious enough to keep questioning it. The team is small by design. Everyone here shapes the product, talks to the client, and has opinions about both code and pixels.

The team maintains Pundit, our open source authorization library for Ruby on Rails — used in over 38,000 projects worldwide. It's not a side project. It's what happens when people who care about craft stick around long enough.

The name Varvet means "the shipyard" in Swedish. It also means "one lap" — as in going around again. Both matter. We build things with care, and we keep iterating until they're genuinely good.
